Some parents are afraid to let their child play in contact sports once the braces are on. Well, there are some precautions you can take to help avoid damage to the braces. |

Football, soccer, basketball, and baseball are still on the "OK" list when it comes to braces. You can pretty much still do everything you did before, with one BIG addition: a mouthguard. You can get them from your dentist or orthodontist, so plan on wearing your mouthguard during any kind of sporting activity-even roller blading! |
You might want to avoid sports such as boxing, wrestling, and karate. Participating in those sports many times leads to getting hit in the face. And getting hit in the face can be very painful, let alone, when your braces wind up stuck to the inside of your mouth. |
