Unfortunately, some foods can be damaging to your braces. Some can even break them altogether! If you damage or break your appliances, it can cause a delay in your treatment. Here are a few foods you should forget about eating while you have your braces on: |

Ice. It's the worst! Ice can totally destroy your braces.
Pizza crusts. The hard crust can bend your wires.
Hard pretzels. These can bend the wires or loosen bands and brackets.
Cheetos, Fritos, tacos, Doritos. ¡No, no señor! All these favorite snack foods can make a hard ball and break your braces.
Gum. Anything sticky can pull your wires right off.
Hard candy. It's fine if you're not tempted into biting into it.
Pencils and pens. They may be a good in-school snack, but they break everything.
Popcorn. The little shells get between your gums and teeth and really, really hurt!
